How did the market of IT solutions develop in the first part of this year? What were the most important projects of NTT DATA (in terms of value and complexity)?
The IT market has significantly evolved in the RPA area, Cyber Security and Cloud.
NTT DATA Romania marks the successful implementation of a new software management system through SAP S/4HANA business solution for Premier Restaurants Romania, the development partner of McDonald’s restaurants in Romania. The project was challenging and it opened new pathways towards the digital transformation of the business environment in Romania.
In regards to the Public Sector, one of the most valuable and complex projects initiated by NTT DATA Romania was the one for Nuclearelectrica.

Projects related to the BPM technology area (Consultancy services for process efficiency), RPA (Consultancy & implementation services for process automation), Cyber Security, Embedded, IoT, SAP, as well as selling our own ERP system – Clarvision.

How many new clients have you acquired in your portfolio this year and what industries do they belong to?
The foreign market still represents the largest share of our total revenue (70%), with significant growth within the Banking and Manufacturing sector and also the Technology area: Cyber Security, Embedded and IoT. In the past 6 months, the portfolio has extended by acquiring new clients, such as Westfalia Automotive, Horizon Global Corporation, CEMA, Dürr Systems AG, Optware, Davaso, IFM Electronic, Lamilux, Mogic, TÜV Austria and others. A constant evolution in the past years is also represented by the increase of the local market share in our total revenues. This translates into 30%, compared to 27% in the previous fiscal year. The growth was mainly generated by projects in the area of BPM (Consultancy services for process efficiency), RPA (Consultancy and solution services for process automation), Cyber Security, Embedded, IoT, SAP, as well as from selling our own ERP system: Clarvision. The portfolio has expanded through partnerships with top clients from various industries: Rompetrol, BRD Finance, Romstal, Premier Restaurants representing McDonald's Romania, Auchan, Zepter Romania, Telekom Romania, Nuclearelectrica, ANCOM (National Authority for Administration and Regulation in Communications), National House of Public Pensions and others.

What revenue did you collect in the first half of this year? What was the evolution compared to S1 2018?
In the first 6 months of 2019, NTT DATA Romania registered a turnover of EUR 40.35 mil, meaning an increase of approx. 30%, compared to the first 6 months of the previous year. The EBIT for the same period reached EUR 2.96 mil, an increase of 56% compared to the same period of the previous year.

How many employees do you currently have? How many of them joined the team this year and what recruitment plans do you have for the second semester of the year?
NTT DATA Romania is an IT services provider and system integrator, with a team of over 1,800 specialists in Romania and Serbia. This year, more than 150 new colleagues joined our team. The company has 150 open positions at the moment and a large project in the Automotive industry that will hire another 30 people by the end of September.
The recruitment plan includes the extension of our current Recruiting team, we continue to do head hunting, but also intense advertising within universities.

What turnover do you expect to end this year with and what is your estimate based on?
For the end of this year, NTT DATA Romania estimates a turnover of about EUR 82.31 mil., up about 23% from the previous fiscal year.

What plans do you have for the future?
The next 2 years will bring significant investments in the technical training of the team, in the refurbishment of the Clarvision ERP suite, as well as in other products and solutions with their own IP (WinActor - our RPA solution, IntraMart – our BPM Engine solution), which will allow us to achieve a healthy operational margin in a 5-10 years’ timeframe.
2019-2020 will outline the renewal, reset and reinvention of the business models we operate in different segments of the market, such as the As a Service model. We look with courage in the future, having the high financial strength of the concern of which we belong.

Perspectives on the IT solutions market in the next period: what kind of computerization / digitalization / digital transformation projects should be launched in your opinion urgently by the private companies / the public sector and why?
Process automation, meaning both process engine and RPA solutions, Cyber Security, but also the migration of existing On-Prem solutions to the Cloud.

How do you think the IT&C solutions market in Romania will develop in the next 2-3 years?
The IT market has evolved significantly by migrating to Cloud solutions, implementing the "As a Service" delivery model and understanding and automating business processes.
