Partnership with the Brașov County School Inspectorate and County Police Inspectorate

Signing of the "Digital Jungle" Protocol with the Brașov County Police and School Inspectorates

"NTT DATA Romania Joins Forces with IPJ and ISJ Brașov to Protect Children from Online Dangers
NTT DATA Romania, together with the Brașov County School Inspectorate and the Brașov County Police Inspectorate, announces the signing of a protocol to promote the "Digital Jungle" program in schools across the county. Children will learn how to stay safe online through course modules developed by cybersecurity experts at NTT DATA Romania.

“This year, our goal is to reach over 5,000 children through the 'Digital Jungle' program. It’s an initiative we’ve invested in and decided to expand because it generates real results in terms of protection and prevention through education. The online environment is fascinating for children, but behind their curiosity lie hidden dangers that both they and their teachers and parents need to understand. We’re talking about risks related to personal data security, online bullying, or potential fraud — all of which can be prevented if children know how to browse safely or communicate securely on platforms like WhatsApp,” explained Maria Metz, CEO of NTT DATA Romania.

“We deeply appreciate the openness and support this program receives from IPJ and ISJ Brașov. Thanks to this collaboration, we will be able to reach even more children and parents with our messages, delivered through simple and accessible educational modules. It’s crucial that we speak now about online dangers and risks, because they do exist and unfortunately target the most vulnerable groups: children or elderly people who may not yet have developed protective reflexes. This is where our responsibility lies — to act,” she added.

NTT DATA Romania states that the "Digital Jungle" program provides essential knowledge that protects children from various digital risks, from personal data exposure and banking data theft to cyberbullying.

The Brașov County School Inspectorate confirms that the program will be present in multiple schools as part of an effort to support prevention and education regarding responsible technology use among students.
“In an era where technology is an integral part of daily life, students are exposed to numerous dangers — from cyberbullying and online fraud to the unintentional sharing of personal data. "Digital Jungle" is a response to these challenges, offering interactive sessions, case studies, and practical recommendations tailored to the needs of young internet users.
We welcome this initiative through which NTT DATA Romania experts will not only provide students with the necessary knowledge to avoid online risks but also offer them the opportunity to learn how to use technology responsibly and safely.
Our partnership with NTT DATA Romania and the County Police Inspectorate allows us to join a collective effort to equip students with relevant and up-to-date information that supports their digital protection and education,” said Prof. Ovidiu Tripșa, General School Inspector of Brașov.

The program, which will take place in several schools throughout Brașov County, aims to foster a culture of online safety among students. Through its activities, children will learn to identify digital threats, adopt good cybersecurity practices, and know when and how to turn to competent authorities for help.

“Cybercrime can target individual users, public or private organizations, and even critical infrastructure. These crimes can cause significant harm, as recent 2024 reports from Europol and Interpol have shown.
The 'Digital Jungle' project, implemented in Brașov County in partnership with NTT DATA Romania, supports its target audience — minors as well as adults — in adopting preventive measures to avoid becoming victims in the digital space. It enables a more efficient allocation of resources and maximizes the impact of preventive interventions, offering beneficiaries interactive sessions through which they can learn to recognize potentially criminal online situations and respond accordingly,” stated Chief of Police, Valentin Flucus.

Brașov is one of three counties — alongside Cluj and Sibiu — where the program is supported institutionally through the collaboration of both the County Police Inspectorate and the County School Inspectorate."
